 ARAUJIA SERICIFERA (Asclepiadaceae) H HHCl
Twining stems carry hairy, heart-shaped leaves. From midsummer onwards, a long succession of fragrant, chalice-shaped flowers appear. Also called "The Cruel Plant" because moths, pollinating by night, are often caught by their tongues, (or is it proboscises?) However, they are usually, but not always, released the next morning.
Sowing Instructions
Sow finely and evenly. Cover thinly with compost or grit.
Sow in gentle heat in daylight and keep moist.
Grow on individual seedlings in 3 inch pots.
Plant out in well-drained open position with climbing support.
