 MIGNONETTE BRONZE
Family: LETTUCE
Packet Content(approx.): 250
1898 saw the introduction of this old Butterhead heirloom variety. The small, compact plants are heat-tolerant, and have attractive, frilled, green-bronze leaves and a cream-coloured heart.
Sowing advice: Sow seed on soil surface and barely cover. Do not allow seedbed to get really dry. Thin gradually. In cooler climates lettuce may be grown straight through the summer, as well as spring and autumn. Rich, moist soil is necessary. Plants may benefit from a few hours of afternoon shade in hottest summer weather.
