 AMPELODESMOS MAURITANICA Poaceae HP 6-7ft
The "Mauritanian Vine-Reed" was indeed used to tie up vines, and is a superb focal point for a sunny spot. Large, one-sided, brown panicles on striking upright stems rise up from a non-spreading clump of fine-textured blades. Remains attractive all winter.
Sowing advice: K. GRASSES: COVER SEED THINLY WITH COMPOST OR GRIT IN GENTLE HEAT OR A WARM LIGHT SPOT OUTSIDE. GROW ON SINGLY OR IN CLUMPS IN 3" POTS. PLANT OUT IN A WELL-DRAINED OPEN POSITION.
