A splendid architechtural plant for the water's edge or a damp garden, where it will assume giant-like proportions. Bright, banana-coloured spathes shoot out of the ground in spring followed by enormous banana-like leaves. (Not a banana relative!)

Sowing advice: Z. COVER WITH COMPOST OR GRIT 1CM. DEEP. KEEP MOIST IN COOL, COVERED, LIGHT SPOT OUTSIDE. GROW ON INDIVIDUAL SEEDLINGS IN 3" POTS. PLANT OUT IN GOOD, PREFERABLY DAMP, SOIL.
