 LITHOSPERMUM STARRY NIGHT (Boraginaceae) HP
A lovely form of Lithospermum purpureocaeruleum. Dazzling deep blue stars are carried on thin springy prostrate stems, bearing small hairy leaves, in spring and early summer. In autumn a few white, rock-hard seeds are produced, remaining on the black stems even when the leaves have gone. (For ancient Greek speakers: lithos=stone, sperma=seed.)
