DESFONTAINIA SPINOSA Loganiaceae HSh 4-5ft (5 Seeds)
The leaves look and feel just like holly but this rare plant from cold Southern Chile is no relation. Long buds burst out into a display of flamboyant, tubular red and orange waxy flowers, which continue until late autumn. Deservedly one of the top ten shrubs in our garden.
Sowing advice: J. SOW IMMEDIATELY ON RECEIPT. COVER WITH COMPOST 5mm. DEEP. KEEP COOL OUTSIDE. SEEDS USUALLY GERMINATE DEC/JAN WHENEVER SOWN. NO HEAT NEEDED. GROW ON IN 3" POTS. PLANT OUT IN GOOD SOIL.
